Seminar on “Electric Assisted Wearable Technologies”

A One-day All India Seminar on the theme “Electric Assisted Wearable Technologies” was organized by the Institution of Engineers (India), Rourkela Local Centre on 19th September, 2024 at Local Centre Building in conference hall number-1. Dr. Nutan Kumar Dash, Vice-President, the Institution of Engineers (India) was the Chief Guest. Er. B. Sunil Kartha, Chief General Manager, SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant was the Guest of Honour. Dr. K.B. Mohanty, Professor  & HOD, Dept. of Electrical Engineering, NIT, Rourkela also graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. In the Inaugural Session, Er. Santosh Kumar Polaki, Chairman, the Institution of Engineers (India), Rourkela Local Centre gave a welcome address and briefly spoke about the benefits of wearable decvices. The Introduction of the theme was presented by the Convenor of the Seminar Dr. Venkata Ramana Naik N.  He told about the importance of the said topic for the current scenerio. Spoke about how wearable technology increasing in demand from medical sector to aviation industies. Er. Kartha told on the wearable technologies and its aspects in various industries and detection systems for example gas leakage detection equipments. Thereafter, Souvenirs of the Seminar were released by the Chief Guest Dr. Nutan Kumar Dash. In his speech, Dr. Das told about the motivational call to all the electrical engineers to work in interdisciplinary work to develop various product. The Inaugural Function ended with felicitation of dignitaries on the dais. The Honorary Secretary of IEI, Rourkela, Dr. Captain Ajit Behera, explained the importance of the seminar theme and gave vote of thanks addressing all the dignitaries and participants. A total of two keynote speech and six selected technical papers were presented that were bearing on the central theme of the seminar. The technical sessions were evaluated by eminent experts in the related field. In the concluding session, many recommendations and suggestions emerged from discussions covering various sub-themes of “Electric Assisted Wearable Technologies”.
