ALL INDIA SEMINAR ON “Intelligent Systems, IoT, and Wireless Communication for the Society  (IIWCS-2024)

An All India Seminar on “Intelligent Systems, IoT, and Wireless Communication for the Society” was held at Rourkela during August 12-13, 2023. The Inaugural Session was held at Seminar Hall, Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering, NIT, Rourkela. It was organized by the Institution of Engineers (India), Rourkela Local Centre in association with Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela.

Prof. Ganapati Panda, Former Deputy Director, IIT, Bhubaneswsar was the Chief Guest, Prof. Chandan Kumar Sahoo, Dean (Faculty Welfare), NIT, Rourkela was the Guest of Honour. Er. Santosh Kumar Polaki, Chairman, the Institution of Engineers (India), Rourkela Local Centre gave welcome address. The Introduction of the theme was presented by the Convenor of the Seminar Prof. Santanu Kumar Behera.  Prof. Poonam Singh, HOD, Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering, NIT, Rourkela spoke achievements and prospects of their department. Thereafter, Souvenir of the Seminar were released by Prof G. Panda. The Inaugural Function was ended with felicitation of dignitaries on the dais. The IEI Rourkela Honorary Secretary Dr. Ajit Behera gave vote of thanks. A large number of members, guests and students attended the function.

A total of 70 papers were selected for presentation in the Seminar out of which 45 papers were presented during the five technical sessions spread over two days. The technical sessions were chaired by eminent experts in the related field. Technical Paper presentations were evaluated by the relevant experts in the related field coordinating by the co-conveners Prof. Ajit Kumar Sahoo, Prof, Santos Kumar Das and Prof. Umesh Chandra Pati.

With a view to add extra significance to this technical event, some important personalities were invited to deliver key-note speech on the various aspects of central theme. They are: Shri Chetan Kumar, Senior Director, Mavenir, Bangalore; Prof. Rabindra Kishore Mishra, Former Professor, Berhampur University, Odisha and Prof. Nemai Karmakar, Monash University, Clayton, Victoria, Australia. The event sponsor are: Indian Space Research Organization, Steel Authority of India Limited, J.V. Micronics, Liquid Instruments, ITI Government, Balasore, ITI Government, Bhandaripokhari. In addition to this, the technical co-sponsors are IEEE, Rourkela and Springer.

In the concluding session, many recommendations and suggestions emerged out of discussions covering various sub-themes of “Intelligent Systems, IoT, and Wireless Communication for the Society”.
