A One-day All India Seminar on the theme “Sensor Manufacturing and Engineering” was organized by the Institution of Engineers (India), Rourkela Local Centre on 21st September, 2024 (Saturday) at 10.00 AM at A.N. Patel Memorial Seminar Hall, Local Centre Building, NIT Campus, Rourkela.
Er. R.K. Muduli, Chief General Manager, SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant was the Chief Guest. Prof. Snehashish Chakraverty, Dean (Academics), NIT, Rourkela was the Guest of Honour. In the Inaugural Session, Er. Santosh Kumar Polaki, Chairman, the Institution of Engineers (India), Rourkela Local Centre gave a welcome address and briefly spoke about the significance of Sensor Manufacturing. The Introduction of the theme was presented by the Convenor of the Seminar Prof. Santosh Kumar Das.
Er. Muduli told about various type of sensors which is to be manufactured carefully so as to comfort the daily requirements. Prof. Chakraverty elaborated the need of interdisciplinary area related to sensor and told the importance of the mathmatics for the sensor manufacturing. Thereafter, Souvenirs of the Seminar were released by the Chief Guest Er. Muduli. The Inaugural Function ended with felicitation of dignitaries on the dais. The Honorary Secretary of IEI, Rourkela, Dr. Ajit Behera, discussed about various sensors and their need in industry 5.0 and also gave vote of thanks at the end of his speech. A large number of members, guests and students attended the function.
A total of seven technical papers were accepted and presented during the technical session. Besides, Keynote Lectures were also delivered in technical sessions by eminent personalities from reputed academic institutes. The technical sessions were chaired by eminent experts in the related field.
In the concluding session, many recommendations and suggestions emerged from discussions covering various sub-themes of “Sensor Manufacturing and Engineering”.
